Isle of Shoals

One of the items on my bucket list was a visit to the Isle of Shoals.  Located off the coasts of New Hampshire and Maine, seven island comprise the Isle of Shoals.  Most are privately owned, but two are open to the public - Star Island and Appledore Island.  Last September we visited Star Island by boat; it was a great photo op and a wonderful adventure.

In honor of

Breast Cancer Month

My good friend Karen died in August 2009 after a valiant 9 year struggle with breast cancer.  I miss our phone conversations and lunches that we had regularly.  Rest in Peace, dear friend.

One of my favorite digital scrapbook designers,  Julie.It.Is, is moving to a new store and changing her name.  Can't say where just yet, but her new name will be Sherwood Studio.  She's redesigned some kits and I've recycled some LOs to meet her deadline.  Stay tuned for the big reveal on Oct. 28th.

Grandbabies

My two youngest grandbabies live in New England and I don't see them nearly enough.  So...I take photos the entire time I'm with them.  I'm the grandma with the camera.

Family

In my office closet are boxes of old photos that my mother and grandmother saved over the years. Slowly, these pix are being scanned into my computer before they fade so future generations can see them. The photo used here is one of my oldest ones, but not the oldest. I called the layout "Family in 1905", but I'm sure all these folks are not all family.

They steal your heart away

Last July we lost our beloved corgi, Max. He lived a good life for 14 years until he became gravely ill. We were so heartbroken that we found another corgi puppy, not to replace Max but to fill the emptiness in our hearts. Teddy is so full of vim and vigor - he makes us laugh all the time.

Hold on to your hat!

Get ready for lots of autumn photos and scrap pages as it is my favorite season. I've been reviewing photos from years past and have found several that I just have to scrap.

"Pumpkin Farm" features my youngest grandson in New England. He's such a sweet boy who smiles almost all the time. Grandma wishes she could spend lots more time with him and his big brother.

The view from the sunroom

On a recent New England visit , I stayed with Chris and Kristin and the boys in Mass.  While there I spent a lot of time in their sunroom facing Lake Attitash.  I'm sure nothing else would get done if I lived there and could watch the lake all day.  One day was dark and overcast - fantastic light for photos.






Guess it's because I live in the sunny Southwest that I love rainy days so much.

Second Time Around

Hubby and I have been together since we met 17 years ago.  I had 3 teens and he had 2 older sons;  now our jumbled family includes grandkids, former  spouses and former daughters-in-law and their significant others, and friends.


I took this photo of my wedding ring for a 1st anniversary card that I gave him.
